The curves were as familiar as my child’s smile. Winding its way under canopied boughs of eucalyptus, reflecting patches of sunlight in abstract beauty, the road sang to me its melancholy song. Slanted rays of sunlight danced and sparkled, as I made my way through the wood. Spring’s glowing green hues gave a youthful blush to the aged grove, while the dried, twisted leaves of past seasons lay as reminders of passing time. Misty ocean breezes began to move into to trees and I tried to capture on canvas the mood of present, past, and future meeting on this road through Montana de Oro.
